WELCOME TO THE BIRSTALL & DISTRICT POOL LEAGUE
Monday 6 February 2017 - 8:00 pm
Central Club, Batley
The next rounds of the Mixed Doubles, Scotch Doubles, Singles A and Team knockouts have now been released. These can be found in the relevant sections of the website and have also been issued by email to any team contacts we have registered. If you have not received the knockouts and would like to then please email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be added to the mailing list.
All contact numbers are on the emailed versions, as with previous years the only contact numbers which will appear on the website are the main team contact numbers due to Data Protection. If you need a number please contact the Committee and we will ensure it is provided for you.
Also there are a couple of people who have not provided contact numbers, can you please ensure you provide these ASAP
The provisional knockout format has also been released. This will be adhered to as much as possible and you will see we have given some quite big time frames for matches to be played over the festive period.
If you have any queries at all with the knockouts, please contact the knockout secretary, Nathan Wilby, 07583 066698.
The Committee have decided to extend player registrations until the end of Week 20. Should you wish to sign a player on please ensure you e-mail, whats app or text the results & queries phone with the players name PRIOR to the match starting. This MUST be received before the match starts otherwise the player will be deemed ineligible and the opposition will be awarded any frame they take part in. The registration sheet MUST be received at the meeting on Monday February 6th. This extension of the registration is with the strict rule that any player playing after Week 20, or who isn't registered by Week 20 will be ineligible and have ALL points removed for games they've played in.
ATTENTION DIVISION FOUR
The New Inn (Drig) are now OUT of the league. There has been a change in landlord and no confirmation received that a pool team exists. This means all results have been removed back to the start of the season. Due to the limited number of games The New Inn (Drig) had played, and the fact they hadn't played every team once, this was the fairest way to resolve matters. The league tables have been updated to reflect this.
ATTENTION DIVISION TWO
Birstall Sports and Social Club (Birstall Horse & Jockey) have returned home as their club has now reopened. This change takes effect immediately. They will revert back to their original name of Birstall Sports and Social Club. Please update your fixtures accordingly.
There have been a few separate reports in recent times to the Committee about teams arriving at away venues and not respecting the rules of the venue/landlord. Can we please remind all teams that when you go to play away, the rules of the venue are there to be adhered to i.e. if there are signs re No Swearing, please try to calm your language and respect other customers, likewise if there are any signs regarding the use of illegal substances, please do not do it on their premises (ideally don't do it anywhere regardless of if there are signs or not!!).
All matches are to be played in a sporting manner in accordance with Rule 33 of the BDPL rules and this covers all aspects of the night from the way you treat your opposing players, other customers, the bar staff, landlord and venue as a whole.
Any incidents which are reported to the Committee will be investigated and any evidence of wrongdoing will result in action being taken by the Committee including expulsion from the league.
NEW SEASON - NEW CONTACTS!
There are a few amendments to the contacts within the Committee for the new season. After having a couple of busy years I have decided to take a step back within the work I do on the Committee so I am handing over the BDPL mobile phone and the work of results and tables to the newest member of the Committee Adam Wilson. If you call or email the BDPL number/address Adam will now be your main contact. Due to this Nathan is using his own number for knockouts, however if you do send your knockout results to the BDPL mobile it will get passed on appropriately:
